Reading, Writing, Learning, Teaching, Coaching, Living. These are all parts of a daily, weekly, monthly, annual process for growth. It is amazing how much information changes situations. I have dedicated my habitual life to learning many new things and developing into a version of my ideal self. If interested in learning with me, continue to check in and I would love to encourage discussion or questions on the subject of information shared!

I wish everyone a wonderful season as we lead into the final week(s) of 2020!
Book I have enjoyed: The Hero Effect by Kevin Brown

This was a quick read book that I have enjoyed. Sent to me by a brother of mine. He tells a story about his son whom was diagnosed with autism. He explains how at one point in time he was unsure what accomplishments or challenges his son would be able to overcome throughout his life. What the story continues to talk about is how his son was able to change Disney Parks for the better, without knowing or having the intent to make such an impact. One way we are told we can make such an impact on those around us: “You can never go wrong, doing the right thing.” Another quote that I enjoyed reflecting on is:
“ If you cut an apple, you can count the seeds in the apple. But if you will plant those seeds, you can never count the apples that come from those seeds. What are you planting in the lives of others?”
A financial move I have made: Visioning
I wrote out what is called my “Definite Chief Aim”. Which essentially summarized a personal vision and series of goals. I did the specific math on what I am worth every minute, hour, month, and year. Comparing it to my future self. I have found this interesting, if I had not written out the “how” I plan to accomplish my financial goals I would admit the “what” would be quite intimidating.
Event I enjoyed opened my eyes to:
I took a “digital addiction assessment score” questionnaire which is from a program I am apart of. We all know we use our phones and have it glued to our hands as it lights up our face daily. However our habits of using it appears to be almost mindless, as we think we are utilizing it as a productive tool, it’s taking us away from the moments in life. I like that my phone tells me how many “pick ups” I have daily and weekly. As well as how I use my time while on my phone. I have committed to improving my productivity by cutting out phone use between 8pm and 5am (I wake up by 4am typically). With a set lock out limit on any social media or games after 45 minutes daily. The research I’ve come across states between 3 hours and 15 min to 4 and a half hours of phone use DAILY! I’m unsure about other phone systems but IOS does have the option to track this information for personal use. What’s your average daily screen time? Could you be more productive or benefit from more interaction with family, friends, or even enjoying moments with your pets? I know my dog London hates when I’m on my phone. (Message me if you’re interested in this questionnaire)

Questions and Actions:
Question: After your last breath, someone will probably summarize you entire life in a few words and carve it in a piece of stone. What will they say about you? How will you be remembered? Doesn’t it make sense to choose now what they will write on the rock?
Action: Write down characteristics you would like to be remembered by. Consider your children, grand children, distant relatives, and strangers will at some time read this.

A Physical challenge I have taken:
I speak with patients/clients whom are in the process of recovering from injuries. Of course we discuss running habits and goals. When I share my running stories, I’ve realized they are all so long ago. At least any stories I feel worth sharing. That being said I partially felt like a fraud, because I would explain how I ran 50 miles or 100 miles in one day. Now I did not commit to that long of an ultra, but last night was my tipping point to prove I can still do it. I woke up at 4am this morning and set out to run at least 26.2 miles. After 20mph head winds of ice falling from the sky, climbing over fences to escape the state park at a particular exit, and anticipating my calves would lock up on me at any given moment for the last 7 miles; I was able to finish 27 miles. It was not of a pace worth bragging about but my goal for all things in life is at the very least “just finish”.
