Each week I make the conscious effort to improve myself through reading books and articles, listening to podcasts and audio books. I also have the opportunity to have good conversations with not much under 100 people weekly. I have the unique opportunity to learn and teach what I learn every day. Which fits into my personal mission:
“Growing and becoming the best version of myself, pursuing dreams and inspiring others to do the same.”

Book I have completed: The Power of Leadership by John Maxwell- This book was referred to me by a co-worker. It felt inspiring and energizing to answer some of the questions in this book. We are typically poor in our ability to self assess. I would admit that I check myself often when interacting with others as to how I am coming across to others. Not in an anxious way, but to be sure I am being effective in my communication with others.

The Power of leadership starts off with three simple questions:
1.) What’s motivating you to want to become a leader?
I find joy in helping others. It gives me a great purpose to help others succeed in their goals. To know that we have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others is life changing. The best outcomes, come from self improvement. The better I improve my health mentally, physically, and my mind educationally; the better I have found my ability to serve others on a higher level. It was not until recently that I was able to flip my mindset and professional growth. Within a year, where I am already beyond what I would have visioned in some aspects.
2.) What are you passionate about doing to make a difference?
I am passionate about helping others currently on a physical level. Working in physical therapy and fitness training, I teach people to better understand how to overcome their fears of discomfort and pain. How to use their bodies as it was intended. I help children return to play/sport. Weekend warriors get back to athletics with their friends and/or children with some advice to prevent future injuries. I help grandparents regain their ability to interact with their grandchildren, through both hugs, and play. I am passionate at giving people their functional lives back.
3.) Who are you willing to invite into the journey with you?
This one is simple. Literally anyone willing to join me. Of course there is more to it than just that. Those who are willing to commit to doing things outside of their comfort zone. Those whom are open minded to learning or re-learning what they are capable of and what their mind and body together can overcome/ accomplish. Unfortunately for some, it is not until their limitations or pain becomes more uncomfortable than the fear of taking action before they are willing to begin taking action.
Someone sent me a quote this past week: “Action takers are money makers.” This applies to anything in life, more than just money but health, education, career, even mindset. We become more proficient or efficient through action. We develop, learn, and grow through action. Eventually we are then rewarded for the actions taken.
Event I look forward to: November 15th is my birthday, the past few years I have gone to continuing education courses and treated the date as any other day. This year I happen to have a scheduled closing date on an investment property. This has been in process since September. Two months later, the closing date happen to fall on this date. Fortunately, I work with some great people who allowed me to change my work schedule to leave an hour early to accommodate this closing date. This gift will keep on giving as I plan to buckle down and begin renovation work this upcoming week as every day unrented is an expense. I know many individuals who would prefer to relax on their birthday and I respect that. But a day relaxing at my house will be less memorable than the leap of faith being taken this year.
Vision Goals: Prior to writing today’s blog. I reviewed my 2021 vision. I was shocked to see how close I had come to achieving this vision. I would say 50% of my original vision is accurate, that does not mean that I missed my goals by 50%. This just means I took difference steps to accomplish the end results of what is necessary for an improved following year. Without a doubt I would not have gotten as far as I did without setting time aside to think about what I wanted my future to look like. The success comes from writing down what I was willing to do and sacrifice in order to reach educational, career, investment, and financial goals. Followed by having subtle reminders often of what my goals are and how I plan to achieve them.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable: “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”
Questions:
What do you want to set out to accomplish as we near the end of 2021?
What have you accomplished this year? (Truly think about it, do not accept “nothing” as an answer)
Actions:
Start by writing down a financial goal, a physical goal, and educational goal. Then give yourself time in a space where you will be undistracted, to think about what your life looks like as you have achieved those goals. What difference will it make in your life? What opportunities will it provide to you?
