The Morning Ambition-Wish A Mile (Support)

Good morning and good day,

As we continue to explore the experiences of life, it is inevitable that we will hit challenges along the way. This can derail us from our plan, from our routine, from our vision of how we anticipated our day(s) to go. If this happens, know that you’re not alone.

Welcome back to another weekly upgrade where we explore learning:

First off, thank you to all of you whom supported us ( Make A Wish WAM Riders- Michigan) in our fundraising journey to grant wishes. This year in particular became significantly less about the ride for milage, and more about safety and togetherness. Sadly, an impaired driver drove across the yellow lines on a road, neglectfully hitting five cyclist whom are apart of this organization. Five individuals whom were/ are fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, cousins, uncles, friends, neighbors. Two family members did not make it home to their families due to this tragedy, one under several surgeries.

In support of those families I wanted to share their personal support pages to help the families of:

Michael Salhaney

Ed Erickson

and Roland Pascua

These named individuals gave their all in support of the children of Make A Wish Michigan and made such an amazing difference in the world of not only Wish Children, but the cycling community as a whole.

Striving for change, striving for growth, striving for a bigger purpose, a bigger vision will lead us out of our comfort zone and into the unknown.

Despite what some may lead us to believe, the artificial “every day is sun shine and rainbows” does not exist. However what does exist is personal perception and mindset.

The cleché quote of it’s not what you see but how you see things that matter. When you focus on silver linings of life, the optimistic aspects of life occurrence compared to the pessimistic aspects of life; we actually strengthen those forms of thoughts (synapses within the brain). This is why attempting to seek positives in dark experiences of life can be so important long term, building a healthier mindset.

Challenge: despite whatever set backs you may have today or this week, give thought of what positives exist as when you give focus, thoughts, and effort towards this, you will find many things. When you find your mind leading towards negatives, stop yourself from thinking deeper to these thoughts.
