Reading, Writing, Learning, Teaching, Coaching, Living. These are all parts of a daily, weekly, monthly, annual process for growth. It is amazing how much information changes situations. I have dedicated my habitual life to learning many new things and developing into a version of my ideal self. If interested in learning with me, continue to check in and I would love to encourage discussion or questions on the subject of information shared!
Book I finished: Limitless by Jim Kwik

This book took me a bit longer to complete because there were so many notes I choose to take on the information. I originally rented this book from the library (which I’m a fan of), but decided this book is worth owning and re-reading at-least annually. I definitely felt like growing up I could relate to the author in some ways, which until I gained small wins and encouragement by my now wife Kathleen. I have slowly began to find more “limitless” possibilities. This book does break down concepts and ideas with scientific studied to back up the ideas, which means it’s not just “fluff” and opinion. The more I learn, the more I appreciate reading information that has factual data to back up the information.

The book starts off like many other books I have recently read: Mindset, which I am now understanding why this is such an important factor in success. It is inevitable that we will all encounter challenges and set backs. If we are not failing, we are not pushing ourselves to become the best possible versions of ourselves. Having a strong mindset allows you to reflect back to the opportunities and potential positives. When things go “wrong”, a great mindset allows you to step back reflect and think whether or not there is something you can do now or in the future to better your chances of success.
This book talks about becoming more effective in learning. Next to the book Miracle Morning, this might be the next best book to start personal growth and development. One technique I was reminded of was: Pomodoro technique: 25 min study then 5 min break cycle. See the photo to the left as a reference. There are plenty of videos on youtube even with background music if needed to drown out other sounds in your workspace. ( I’m literally using this technique as I write this)
There are many other tips and tricks to boost your learning that I look forward to sharing with those reading these in the future.
Quote: Oliver Wendell: “Every now and then a man’s mind is stretched by a new idea or sensation, and never shrinks back to its former dimensions.”

Experience I enjoyed: Up north
This past week my wife, dog, and I traveled up north. This turned out to be an unexpected adventure where the bathroom turned into an ice rink, toilet not flushing, and was definitely cold until we got the fire started. The scenery was amazing with the ice and snow. Ultimately it it turned out great, and most importantly London (my dog) loved it up there!
Experiment: Meditation
I recently began attempting to do meditation. Sitting in silence for 12-30 minutes thus far practicing breathing techniques have shown to reduce my stress levels per my Garmin Forerunner 945. Although some suggest the early morning to start the day, I have a demanding morning routine and felt the evening was the easiest time block to add it to before bed. My goal is to set more intention with my mindset before going to bed. In turn looking to influence my subconscious mind and mindset leading into the next day.
Questions and Actions:
Question: What do you tell yourself before going to bed every night? Do you even think or reflect on your day, where you’re at and where you’re going?
Action: Before going to bed tonight, think about how the day went and what you could learn from that. Now set your intentions for what you want your mind to think about as you sleep. No guarantees but your brain might subconsciously give you clarity and ideas you never thought of during a busy day.
