Experiences I’m enjoying: Recently my wife and I booked a trip that cost significantly less than expected because we bought groceries, gas, and other expenses on credit cards. Without having to change our spending habits, the only thing we had to do was use one of two credit cards throughout the year on typical expenses we were going to purchase anyways. I always highly recommend ensuring you’re able to pay off credit cards monthly as to be sure not to spend significantly more for goods and services with interest rate charges.
We booked a cruise which we frequently checked until the company offered “discounts”. Once the price for a cruise along with the timing was appropriate, we committed. From there booking the cruise, we then looked at flights to make it to the port in Fort Lauderdale a day early. We learned from past experience, do not fly out the day of the cruise. Even if the flight is intended to take off early morning, flight plans change as did our current flight plan did once already. The great thing is nor the flight or the hotels cost us much additional. This was possible by using a Delta American Express card which allowed us to use accrued miles for a round trip flight between my wife and I for the cost of $22. After the expense of our points on one card, we then used another card to book the hotel rooms. One on the day we fly in, one for the day prior to when we fly back. These rooms booked with breakfast at the hotels cost us $0.00 with the use of points. An estimated savings of around $1,200, I was shocked to see the flight cost from DTW to FLL (Over $700 for the two of us) if we paid for the flight with money.

Gym Life: It has been a long time since I have workout out in a large gym like setting. I am fortunate to have a small gym space in my basement, however things get tricky with overhead activities and movements that require space like walking lunges. I work for a physical therapy company that has a sports clinic where it is set up with a pretty amazing rogue rack, kettlebells, turf, rogue boxes, and more. As well as some of the most intelligent Doctors of Physical Therapy I believe to at least be in the state of Michigan to keep me honest in my movement patterns.
WAM 2022: It is official that Kathleen and I are signed up for Wish A Mile 2022
We have previously done this fundraising event to bring opportunity to children of Michigan through Make A Wish Foundation. We are willing to ride 300 miles to bring awareness to this group and typically spend nearly $2,000 to participate with travel, hotel, maintenance ect. My ask if to reach out to others in hopes to raise $1,500 each this year to make some children’s wishes come true.
Make A Wish Foundation provides opportunities for children whom are diagnosed with a terminal medical diagnosis. When families are struggling to keep their momentum, their mindset optimistic, and try to remain positive in times of challenge; this group give the children and families something to look forward to, as well as hope that there are chances to still enjoy life. I am proud to be apart of this event and eager to see what fundraising we can do!

Questions: What have you done today to set yourself up for a better future? What gift can you give your future self?
Actions: Change is hard, change is challenging, change is scary, change is inevitable. Think about what you want in 1,3, and 5 years from now. Now write down one thing you can do daily to achieve that vision. Now do it.
