The Egg Hunt of Success

Wake up…. WAKE up… WAKE UP!

How familiar does this sound?  Waking up possibly to an alarm for the 3rd time today alone. Roll out of bed, throw on some cloths, grab a coffee and make your way to work. Snack at work, react to the day that’s happening around you until you go home. Feeling tired from the work day, you have no time to plan for your own personal growth or health. You make what’s quick and convenient for dinner, scroll social media or watch television until you get ready for bed.

Rinse and repeat the next day.

It’s no wonder we’re stressed, overwhelmed, appear to be falling behind in a never ending fast paced ever changing environment of society. We are responding to the day opposed to controlling, molding, and owning our schedule through the day.

Dwayne Johnson: “You’re not tired, you’re uninspired.”

Eric Thomas: “Consistency is having that goal, and even when you don’t feel like it. You still do what you told yourself you was going to do…. It’s the days you don’t feel like doing it but you look at your wife (or husband), you look at your kids.. and you realize I am where I am because of other peoples sacrifices. I’ve got to get up and make it happen even if I don’t want to get up and make it happen.”

Stack Wins

When you begin to stack small daily wins, the habitual routine gets easier as you’re physically changing your body and “rewiring” your brain. As you begin to see small changes and in time you inevitably will reap rewards of the compound effect of your daily committed actions.

Warning (this does come with likely side effects): you’re inclined to eventually see and increase in your mood,  you’re inclined to begin building a healthier physique, you’re inclined to have increased confidence. You might begin to inspire others to improve themselves. You might begin to enjoy your work and set yourself up for future raises and increase your total income. You also might find an increase in health span and the ability to maintain independence and enjoy life as we age.

Reset your mindset

The way we prepare for our day, the way we manage ourselves through the day is a reflection on our dedication, determination, and commitment to ourselves and those around us. By working on ourselves and our mindset; we give yourselves permission and clarity in direction towards our life goals. Health, wealth, and accomplishments do not happen just because we wish it to be true. In order to live a full and healthy life, it takes intentional action and consistency. Like a credit score with ourselves, accomplishing small wins every day to convince ourselves that we are capable and credible to receive, have , and do what we want and what our future selves might need.

Set yourself up for success:

Waking up early is not the only way but it’s one of the easiest ways…

Waking up giving yourself time to plan for the day, scheduling time blocks of tasks that lead you towards your goals gives you direction. Why the morning? Because the day will change and you will come across challenges you did not plan for. Executing focus on yourself and your personal health/ goals first in the morning ensures that regardless of what happens through the day; you’ve accomplished what you needed to for yourself each and every day.

An example of what that might look like:

  • Waking up 2 hours earlier than typical (which may be difficult initially)
  • You don’t have to hit the ground running, sometimes sitting and giving yourself time to think of all of what you can be grateful for.
  • Vision your day and plan for what you want to accomplish through that day and in turn execute the simple tasks that you might otherwise just forget about.
  • Spend your following time not on social media or watching TV but learning something new and initiate moving more. Start with going for a walk or perform a light at home workout circuit  with the option to progress to a fitness center if desired from there.
  • Read and learn something new that will work on personal development, this will carry over into family and work life to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Consider writing down your day and what you learned in order to refer to it. I enjoy checking off tasks as an accomplishment every day as it adds fulfillment to my day, even if it’s small… a win is a win.

If you’re unsure what to read: I’ve got a list of several books I often suggest and recommend to patients and clients often in my link here!

If you’re unsure how to start and where to start with nutrition, exercises, and life coaching reach out to me at my website here!

My schedule is often predictable:

Wake up between 3:30-4:00am, read, write down tasks I’d like to accomplish for the day, review quarterly goals I set for myself (health, business, relationships). I do consume caffeine which eventually gives me the boost I may need to execute my exercises for the day. Followed by food and getting ready for work. After work and before bed I often have a predictable routine as well:

As Thomas Edison was quoted: “Never go to sleep without a request to your subconscious.”

I set what I’d like to accomplish the following day as well as checking off what I executed for that day.
