The Weekly Upgrade #2

Reading, Writing, Learning, Teaching, Coaching, Living. These are all parts of a daily, weekly, monthly, annual process for growth. It is amazing how much information changes situations. I have dedicated my habitual life to learning many new things and developing into a version of my ideal self. If interested in learning with me, continue to check in and I would love to encourage discussion or questions on the subject of information shared!

Quote that moved me: “Victory awaits him who has everything in order, luck some people call it. Defeat is certain for him who has neglected to take necessary precautions in time; this is called bad luck.” – Ronald Amundsen

If you’re unfamiliar with Ronald, he led the first team to reach the south pole by foot with his “20 mile march” consistency. Being one of the first to voyage by ship through the northwest passage and one of the first to cross the Arctic by air.

Book that I’ve finished: Secrets of the Millionaire Mindset by T. Harv Eker

Here is a book that may have changed my thought process moving forward into a different financial chapter of my life. I have had the opportunity to discuss topics of this book with some wealthy individuals. If I were to resent them for their financial success, I would not have learned their lifestyle, and thought process that allows them to grow. We all grow up with bias throughs on money based on our past experiences. Not to say money is everything, but it can provide opportunity. Especially if that opportunity is to help others.

Podcast I have enjoyed: Rich Roll whom is known for having an open forum conversation in his podcast, has interviewed some interesting individuals. One episode ” Think Like A Monk: Jay Shetty”, is because it fits the narrative that in fact money is not everything but simply a tool that can be used in our life. That finding your purpose, sharing and giving to others, respecting others, and seeing the world from a different perspective can be far more rewarding. It fits the narrative of owning your mindset and focus on enjoying experiences in life.

Event I enjoyed: Powerful Portraits by Platon

I watched a webinar with Platon, whom is a British photographer that had the opportunity to capture unique photos of over a hundred world leaders. As well as many celebrity actors, athletes, and activists. Even getting a chance to take photos of: Barack and Michelle Obama, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, George Bush, Putin, Gaddafi, and many more. He discussed his human encounters with these individuals and was able to share a message that we are all human going through challenges. He discussed the power of a community and working together opposed to divided. He discussed his experience with Steven Hawking whom gave him one word of gratitude “wow”. Being grateful despite the challenges of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was able to appreciate the design of the universe and the life he was given. (This photo was on the front page of WIRED magazine)

Here’s a version of his speech on stage: ( It is similar to the smaller group version of his speech I was in but not as complete) Platon’s Speech: https://youtu.be/ViZRfLo78HE

Questions and Actions:

Do you know what your purpose or “why” is? If so are you living it day to day? Think about who you would like to become and ask yourself, what daily habits would this ideal self perform daily? Then simple start adding those habits into your day.

My changed habits include: Waking up and reading something every day. Exercising even if its for 10 minutes. Journaling my goals, thoughts, affirmations, declarations, learned concepts for the day, and what I am grateful for. I know by developing myself, I can help others do so as well. That’s what inspires me.

Thank you for reading! Please share if this is something you have found any of this information interesting, entertaining, or useful. Have a remarkable day!
