Do you ever find yourself struggling to stay motivated when it comes to building habits that are exercise and nutrition focused? You’re not alone. Many of us face this challenge, and I’m here to tell you that there is a way to overcome it.
Many of us are in the same boat. It’s easy to fall into a rhythm that does not serve us. Even myself, I continue to fight against myself as I focus on being more productive in my routine and habits towards my goals.
Starting a routine only to quickly lose interest and fall back into old habits. It’s a frustrating cycle, especially if you don’t have conviction that it’s possible. That we would ever be able to make a lasting change.
We often approach our goals all wrong. Instead of trying to overhaul our entire lifestyle overnight, deciding to focus on small, manageable changes. Starting by committing to just 10-30 minutes of exercise each day and making one healthy food choice at every meal.
At first, it can be hard. There are going to be days when we don’t feel like exercising or when we want to reach for that unhealthy snack. Sticking with our plan and slowly but surely, we start to see progress. Having energy, feeling stronger and healthier, and best of all, learning to actually enjoy the process.
The key is finding what motivates us and using that to fuel our journey. Whether it was the desire to have more energy to play with my kids, or the satisfaction of seeing progress over time, maintaining physical independence, accomplishing a marathon, or any other aspirational goal. Having a clear reason why we are doing it made all the difference.
Are you willing to take the next step?
