By Dylan J. England | Health, Fitness & Leadership Coach
Many years ago, like many others, I hit a sticking point in my personal growth.
It was during what we all called a pandemic.
Even though I continued to work full-time, my wife and I made the decision to invest in finishing our basement. At the time, there was a lot of uncertainty—would I be furloughed? Would the future of physical therapy jobs hold steady? I kept working 40+ hours a week in the clinic while coming home to work on the basement.
But I hit a plateau.
That’s when something unexpected arrived: a book in the mail, with a message from my brother.
“This is going to change your life.”
Turns out, he was right.
The book was The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, and what I learned from it helped me break through the plateau. It wasn’t a miracle—it was a simple, actionable framework that anyone can follow to create real momentum in life.
Let me share that framework with you today: it’s called SAVERS.
The SAVERS Framework for Growth
Silence
Start your day with a few minutes of stillness—no scrolling, no music, just you and your thoughts. It’s a time for gratitude, reflection, and clearing your mind. You might use this time for meditation, prayer, or simply sitting quietly. Let your mind wander and see where it takes you.
Affirmations
Speak and write affirmations that reinforce the person you are becoming. When I started, my affirmations sounded like:
-
I am strong, I am capable.
-
I am smart, I am worthy.
-
I have a millionaire mindset.
-
I am hard-working and resilient.
-
I am grateful for my life.
-
I take ownership of my life and everything in it.
This practice rewires your mindset. If it feels uncomfortable, that’s a sign you need it.
Visioning
Write down your dreams—big or small. What does your life look like in 1, 3, or 5 years? Be specific: the vacations you’ll take, the family you’ll build, the income you’ll earn.
I can tell you from experience, I’ve checked off many of the visions I once wrote down. Even small daily visions—like outlining your perfect day—help create focus and momentum.
Exercise
Move your body. It’s not about long workouts or heavy lifting—it’s about creating energy and building momentum. Even on days when you don’t feel like it, show up. The discipline of movement impacts every other area of your life.
Reading
Learn something every day. Not the news—something that challenges you to grow. If you struggle with affirmations, read a book on mindset. If you’re working on your health, pick up a book on fitness. In one year, I read 46 books while taking notes—and the impact has been massive: in my happiness, income, education, relationships, and in my ability to help thousands of others.
Scribing (Journaling)
Every morning, I write. I’ve spent years refining my journaling system, creating prompts that help me clarify my thoughts, set priorities, and track lessons learned.
I write down:
-
My challenges and solutions
-
My top three next steps for the day
-
My #1 priority for the day
-
Inspiring quotes
-
Lessons learned
This practice gives me clarity, direction, and a sense of control over my day.
Growth doesn’t happen by chance. It happens on purpose—through intentional daily action.
The SAVERS framework helped me break through my plateau. It gave me a system for creating momentum, even when the world felt uncertain.
It can do the same for you.
So, what’s your next step? Try the SAVERS method for yourself—tomorrow morning.
And if this resonates, share it with someone who might need a little extra inspiration. Let’s build momentum together.
